Inbox troubleshooting / Verification emails

No verification code yet? Find out where it’s stuck.

Don’t keep switching addresses and refreshing. Check each step in order: address entered → sender sends → email arrives. This usually helps you decide whether to wait, resend or try another email address.

First check / Right away

Start with the easiest things to verify

An email not showing up doesn’t mean it’s lost. First, make sure the address matches the one you gave the website.

01 / Check

Did you enter the address correctly?

Copy the full address from the toolbar again and check the spelling on both sides of the @, including the domain. When pasting it into the sign-up form, make sure you haven’t included any spaces at the beginning or end.

02 / Wait

Was the email just sent?

Some sites queue emails before sending them. Wait a little, then check using the inbox refresh button. Avoid clicking the site’s resend button repeatedly.

03 / Confirm

Is the address still active?

Check the time remaining shown in the toolbar. Once an address expires or you switch to another one, the old address won’t receive new messages. If needed, extend the current address.

Second check / Follow the delivery path

Even when the page says it was sent, allow time for delivery.

“Sent” on the sending site means it accepted the request, not that the email has reached your inbox. If there’s a short delay, keep the current address and check again later. That’s more reliable than switching addresses right away.

If the site doesn’t confirm that the email was sent, check for an error in the email address field. Some platforms don’t accept temporary email addresses. That restriction comes from the sender, so changing inboxes won’t override its rules.

Third check / Decide what to do next

Before resending, don’t give up on the address you’re waiting on.

Once you’ve confirmed the address is correct and still active, and given the email some time to arrive, you can request one resend from the sending site. A new code may invalidate the old one, so use the code in the latest email you receive.

If you’ll need this account for password recovery, billing emails or security alerts, use an email address you control long-term. A temporary address isn’t suitable as an account recovery contact.

What you see determines what to do next

Identify what’s happening before deciding whether to switch addresses.
